Three-Month English Training Launched for Juveniles in Banke CRH

9 May 2025, Nepalgunj: A three-month English language training programme has been launched for 40 children in conflict with the law at the Child Reform Home in Naubasta, Banke Friday.

The initiative, organized by Advocacy Forum-Nepal (AF) in collaboration with the Child Reform Home (CRH) Naubasta, aims to enhance the educational level and support the reintegration of the children in society.

The training was officially inaugurated in a ceremony chaired by Shyam Rana, Head of the CRH, and attended by several dignitaries including Assistant Chief District Officer of Banke, Khadananda Khatri.

Speaking at the event, Khatri emphasized that improving English proficiency would significantly contribute to the educational growth of the children and urged them to actively engage in the learning process.

Basanta Gautam, Lumbini Province Senior Coordinator of AF, stated that the programme was designed with the aim of upholding the children’s right to education, helping them build a foundation for future careers, and ensuring their smooth reintegration into society after the release. He highlighted the organization’s continued efforts in the field of juvenile justice and stressed the importance of making the learning process effective and meaningful.

The classes will be facilitated by English language teacher Bir Bahadur Chaudhary, who will conduct daily one-hour sessions over the course of three months. Chaudhary expressed his commitment to teaching in an impactful manner and noted that the success of the training would depend on the students’ active participation and enthusiasm.

The students themselves expressed appreciation for the opportunity, describing the training as highly beneficial and thanking AF for its support.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Sub-Inspector Padam Bahadur Rokaya and other stakeholders, underscoring the collaborative effort to support the education and future of children in conflict with the law.
