1 February 2013. The District Court of Dailekh ordered five accused in Dekendra Thapa murder case to be sent to prison for awaiting further trial.
The accused Maoists cadres are Laxiram Gharti Magar, Nirak Bahadur Gharti Magar, Bira Bahadur KC (Bisarat), Harilal Pun Magar and Jaya Bahadur Shahi.After hearing jail-bail arguments from plaintiff and defense lawyers, Honorable Judge Ramkrishna Bhatta found no evidences proving the innocence of the accused and sent them to prison for awaiting trial in accordance with Country Code Court Management Chapter 118(2).
After hearing the order, a teary-eyed Gangadevi Thapa, mother of late Dekendra Thapa, thanked all for helping her in fighting for justice. The victim family felicitated advocates pleading on behalf of the plaintiff along with investigation officer Police Inspector Binod Sharma by garlanding them and putting vermilion on their faces.
