22 November 2024, Kathmandu: Advocacy Forum-Nepal (AF) facilitated a health camp for juveniles kept in Jayendu Child Reform Home (CRH), Nepalgunj, Lumbini Province on Thursday and Friday.
Responding to the request of the CRH for a health camp, AF collaborated with the District Juvenile Justice Committee, District Court Banke and Bheri Hospital Nepalgunj for health check-ups of the juveniles. AF facilitated the procurement of medicines and Bheri Hospital provided the doctors for the health camp.
Earlier, the District Juvenile Justice Committee decided to provide health check-ups for juveniles.
Among 270 juveniles in Jayendu CRH, most suffer from skin-related diseases. Senior Skin-disease Specialist Dr Asmita Gautam, Nursing Officer Shila Sharma and Nursing Supervisor Basundhara Gyawali treated 105 juveniles on Thursday.
District Court Judge Bhisma Raj Prasai, Banke Chief District Officer Khagendra Prasad Rijal, Armed Police Force SP Bimal Dangi, District Police Office SP Ayush Prasad Joshi and Jayendu CRH Bimala Kaucha Magar gave speeches during the inauguration session of the programme facilitated by AF’s Lumbini Province Senior Coordinator Basanta Gautam.
