Advocacy Forum-Nepal together with other Human Rights Organizations Issued Joint Press Statement

Commemorating the 15 years of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) – the agreement that formally ended the ten year long armed conflict between the Government of Nepal and the then Communist Party of Nepal- Maoists (CPN-M)- Advocacy Forum- Nepal (AF) along with victims’ groups and national and international human rights organizations, issued a Joint Press Statement titled “15 Years of Comprehensive Peace Agreement: Justice still Elusive” on 21 November 2021.

Through the Press Statement, victims and human rights organizations called upon the Government to undertake immediate and urgent steps towards reviving the transitional justice (TJ) process making it open, transparent, consultative, and credible. Altogether 87 organizations urged the government to put an end to the continuing delays and betrayal in the truth and justice process for the thousands of conflict victims in Nepal. Furthermore, the Joint Press Statement enlisted the steps that need to be undertaken by the Government to enable the TJ process to move forward
