18 Feb 2011. Final round of psychosocial workshop to human rights defenders conducted by Advocacy Forum concluded in Kathmandu today. Attended by 19 human rights defenders of Advocacy Forum, the workshop was supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The workshop was a wrap-up to the previous workshop conducted in July 2010 and was focused on identifying everyday psychosocial problems haunting human rights defenders and offering ways to mitigate them. Besides, the workshop extensively dealt with techniques to interview victims of various human rights violations.
Advocacy Forum conducts regular psychosocial training to its staff members and victims. Moreover, it also provides psychosocial rehabilitation training to victims and also refers them to other organizations for psychosocial counseling.
