1 June 2011. Ex-Brigade Commander of People’s Liberation Army (PLA),Govinda Bahadur Batala,who was convicted by the District Court of Chitwan to a three-year imprisonment yesterday, has been immediately brought to Kathmandu to face another charge in the same case.
Batala was presented before the District Court of Kathmandu today for his direct involvement in the abduction of Ramhari Shrestha, a restaurateur who was abducted from his home in Kathmandu and later killed in Chitwan.
The court has remanded him for four days for further investigation . Batala is taken in the custody of Metropolitan Police Circle, Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
