Extrajudicial Killing
On July 3, 2005, Security forces arrested Ramadevi Adhikari and her husband at their home, Later, Ramadevi was shot and killed. The security forces did not allow the body to be sent for an autopsy.

Developments in 2011
On October 12, 2009, the Ilam Appellate Court quashed the mandamus petition seeking an order to file the FIR on the grounds that there was no post-mortem report and that the relatives had attempted to file the FIR a long time after the incident occurred. On February 10, 2010 a case was filed in the Supreme Court, challenging this decision. A hearing has been scheduled for December 23, 2010.
