28 July, 2023: Advocacy Forum-Nepal (AF) and Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP-Nepal) have exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the collaboration in the best interest of juveniles in child correction homes (CCH) across the country.

AF Lawyer Kumar Prasad Thapaliya and UCEP-Nepal’s Director Keshav Suwal exchanged the MoU document on 27 July 2023 at UCEP-Nepal’s office in Bhaktapur.

The MoU states that AF will visit the CCH once a month to meet the children and inquire with them about the legal aid they require. Additionally, AF will collaborate with UCEP-Nepal in fulfilling health and education needs of the juveniles.

UCEP-Nepal will coordinate the visit of AF staff to different CCH and also provide data on juveniles to AF as per the requirement.

AF has been providing legal aid and different types of support to children in different eight CCH across Nepal. UCEP-Nepal manages four CCH in Bhaktapur, Morang, Banke and Kaski.
