Report on Maina Sunuwar case released
17 Feb 2010. Victim leaders Janak Raut, Chairman of CVSJ-Nepal, and Ram Kumar Bhandari released a comprehensive report on some overarching facts and legal questions related to the case 15-year old Maina Sunuwar, who was tortured to death by the then Royal Nepal Army officials back in 2004.
The book "Maina Sunuwar: Separating Fact From Fiction" , published by Advocacy Forum, was released amidst a program organized by a group of national and international human rights organizations to mark the sixth anniversary of the arrest and death of Maina Sunuwar. Meanwhile, Advocacy Forum, Amnesty International, Accountability Watch Committee, FOHRID, ICJ and INSEC delivered a joint open letter to the Attorney General, Professor Bharat Bahadur Karki, regarding continual obstruction of justice and judicial authority in the Maina's Case.
