Arjun Pokhrel, a 35 year old male from Nuwakot district, Thanapati VDC-9, Khaniyachaur, residing in a rented room at Chabahil, Kathmandu has been missing since Mangsir 10, 2060. He is a District Member (Kathmandu) of ANNFSU (R). According to information provided by his younger brother Basudev Pokhrel and a report published on 26 December 2004(11 Poush 2061) by a weekly magazine called Nepal he is being detained in Bhairab Nath barrack of Maharajgunj. |

Indra Bahadur Aryal, a 38-year-old male, permanent resident of Dhading District, Tasarpu VDC-5 and a local grocer (he has grocery shops in Dhakre VDC-3 and Mahadevbeshi of the same district). 50 - 60 members of the security forces broke into Indra's house when he was sleeping and arrested him on 11 November 2003 at around 12:24 a.m.. Mr. Aryal was accused of being politically aligned with CPN (UML). His family was not given the reason for his arrest and his whereabouts remain unknown. He has a wife and 3 children. |

Kausalya Pokhrel, 23 year old female, originally from Nuwakot district, Thanapati VDC-9, Khaniyachaur, a grade XII student. Kausalya was arrested in Lalitpur district, Dukuchhap VDC along with her friend Buddhi Lama on 29 November 2003(Mangsir 13, 2060). Her younger brother Basudev Pokhrel stated that the weekly magazine NEPAL published a report which said that she is being detained in Bhairab Nath barrack of Maharajgunj. |

Mr. Ram Prasad Acharya, 48-year-old male, permanent resident of Naubise VDC-1, Dharke, and Dhading District. Mr Achraya was arrested with his friend by a group of 9-10 security forces on 11 November 2003 at around 3:45 a.m. Mr. Acharya who is politically aligned with CPN (UML) was removed from his bed while sleeping, bundled into a van and taken away. His family was not given the reason for his arrest and his whereabouts remain unknown. The security forces had taken Mr. Acharya twice before 11 November and he had previously been detained for 14 days. His has a wife, 2 sons and 3 daughters. |

Padam Narayan Nakarmi, 28-year-old married male, permanent resident of Bungamati VDC-3, Lalitpur District, metal worker. Padam was arrested in his house by a group of 4 Royal Nepalese Army plain clothed armed soldiers on September 22, 2003 at midnight on a charge of being maoist. He has a 6 year old daughter.
On August 11, 2005, the "Roadmap Weekly" published a report stating that Padam Narayan Nakarmi had died due to the severe torture he suffered in the Bhairabnath barrack. His elder brother Puspa Narayan Nakarmi came to Advocacy Forum with the newspaper for assistance. Puspa said that Padam's wife and other family members had not been informed of Padam's death.

Rajendra Mali, 28 (26 while arrested), permanent resident of Lalitpur, Thecho-6, metal crafts worker and farm labourer. Rajendra was allegedly arrested by the security force for being a maoist on Phoolpati 2060 at around 7:30 p.m. from the Mangalbazaar area of Lalitpur. Patan had left his home to buy goods for the Dashain festival. Ever since his arrest, his illiterate family have not seen him or received any information from him. They have registered applications at NHRC and ICRC and visited many barracks but his whereabouts remain unknown. His wife has left his household since the incident leaving behind his young daughter. According to Rajendra's 35-year-old sister Mithai Mali he has been arrested previously for the same offence but has always been safely released. |
